First established in 2015, WWE Fastlane became the last PPV before the biggest show of the year, WrestleMania.

According to PWinsider the PPV will be returning after a year off, and will be the March PPV for 2021.

This news comes after WWE announced where the next three upcoming Wrestlemanias will take place, and that this year’s WrestleMania will be pushed back by two weeks.

Fastlane returning means that we will now have three PPV’s on the ‘Road to WrestleMania’ with the Royal Rumble taking place 31st January, Elimination Chamber on 21st February and Fastlane on 21st March. Fastlane will be the last chance for superstars to earn their way to WrestleMania if they haven’t already.

Previous Fastlane main events include championships such as the WWE & Universal Championships on the line or a number one contenders match to see who faces the champion at Wrestlemania.

One of the most recent notable Fastlane matches was when Becky Lynch defeated Charlotte Flair in 2019, to get herself added to the main event of WrestleMania 35.

Anything can happen on the road to WrestleMania, and now with an added PPV it is exciting to see who will take advantage of the situation.
