WWE has continued its roster cuts with a further eight WWE Superstars finding themselves let go by the company including John Morrison and the entirety of Hit Row.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful first reported on the 18th of November that further roster cuts within WWE were imminent and in total eight stars now find themselves let go from the company after this latest round.
Top Dolla, Ashante Adonis, and Isaiah ‘Swerve Scott of Hit Row were all released by the company just weeks after being drafted from NXT to SmackDown. Also released were John Morrison, Drake Maverick, Tegan Nox, Shane Thorne, and Jaxson Ryker.
This brings the number of total releases from the roster in 2021 to 80 – which doesn’t include a number of backstage and corporate personnel that have also been let go.
It was also reported as has been the case with the mass releases stretching back to 2020 that John Laurinaitis has told people that the releases were made as part of “budget cuts” within WWE.
Some of the released stars have reacted on social media with Drake Maverick releasing a video that parodies the emotional video that he released in 2020 when he was initially let go by the company.
Tegan Nox appears to be going back to the future as she has simply stated “Nixon Newell” on social media – the name that Nox used before signing with WWE.
