Whilst it seems WWE have let the wranglings over the name Cody Rhodes go, it seems there are others they are interested in.

WWE have filed for the trademark to ‘Dean Ambrose’, despite the now Jon Moxley working for AEW.

The report comes from Pro Wrestling Insider who say that WWE had the trademark until earlier this year, however “it was cancelled in August 2020 because they did not file a declaration under section 8 to maintain the registration”.

For those who haven’t yet seen them, the report claims that the trademark filing is for:

Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely, blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.

We can be sure Mox will be providing wrestling “exhibitions and performances”, however they certainly won’t be made under the WWE banner.
