After Triple H officially hung up his boots as part of WrestleMania, former colleague William Regal has given a tribute to the man he has worked with for almost three decades.
In a surprise to kick off the second day of WrestleMania 38, ‘The King Of Kings’ came to the ring going through his entrance routine which the crowd clearly made the most of. After officially welcoming the fans in AT&T Stadium to ‘The Showcase Of The Immortals’, the cameras cut to the pyros on the entrance and when they came back to the ring, Triple H had left his boots and the microphone in the centre of the ring in a symbolic gesture.
After going through heart surgery in the tail end of 2021, Triple H recent confirmed that his in-ring career was over due to the procedure he went through, bringing down the curtain on a glittering career.
With plenty of peers commenting on ‘The Game’ officially taking the step away, William Regal in particular wanted to single out his time working alongside Triple H in a post on social media.
For 28 years we did our bit together, through up’s and down and some bad but mostly good decisions, to be Pro’s and make the job right. Lots of people got opportunities and made memories for themselves. Job done pal.x

William Regal was a key figure in the initial black-and-gold incarnation of NXT, for which Triple H is credited as being the brainchild. Regal was officially released from WWE in the early stages of 2022, and has since emerged in AEW to manage Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson.
