Recently released WWE Superstar Lince Dorado has quickly been back in competitive action – albeit not in professional wrestling – by winning gold at the Jiu-Jitsu World League Florida Open.
Lince Dorado was released from his WWE contract alongside 17 other Superstars on 4th November 2021. Originally debuting for the company as part of the Cruiserweight Classic back in 2016, he was eliminated by Rich Swann in the second round of the tournament but impressed enough to be offered a contract the month after.
He would go on to form Lucha House Party alongside Gran Metalik and Kalisto. All three men are no longer with WWE, with Metalik also being released this month.
Just two days after his release, Dorado decided to compete in the Jiu-Jitsu World League Florida Open, something which would have been highly unlikely to happen if he was still with the company.
Dorado not only entered but ended up winning gold in the tournament, and shared the footage of one of his matches from the event. A number of WWE alumni congratulated him, including Angelo Dawkins, Ricochet and MVP.
I want to thank my family and fans for helping me push myself. I’d also love to thank ME for always believing in myself. I had one goal today and that was to win at all cost. Don’t tap mentality. I didn’t have to. Love my life and myself.

In a strange turn of events, Dorado has also become embroiled in an argument with the father of wrestling personality Izzy, who commented on his release and had previously called the former 24/7 Champion out for a fight in the car park. Dorado has now sent him proof of being in the car park and even arranged parking for him.
