Triple H Gives First Statement Following Cardiac Event

Triple H

Triple H has posted a positive message on social media whilst recovering from his recent surgery.

WWE issued a statement on 8th September saying that ‘The King Of Kings’ had suffered what they described as a “cardiac event”, with the brief statement reading as follows:

Paul Levesque, a.k.a. Triple H, underwent a successful procedure last week at Yale New Haven Hospital following a cardiac event. The episode was caused by a genetic heart issue and Paul is expected to make a full recovery.

Posting on Twitter this Tuesday, 21st September, Triple H said that he had been “blown away” by the response to what had happened and that he is “doing well” and “grateful”.

‘The Game’ also made a point to thank all those involved in NXT, singling out his friend Shawn Michaels for special praise. ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ has worked closely with Triple H backstage at NXT since 2018, and has reportedly been stepping in to the WWE COO’s shoes with the brand during his absence.

Another of Triple H’s long-time friends, Sean Waltman, discussed on his Pro Wrestling 4 Life podcast how he found out the news, and his exchanges following the former D-Generation X member’s surgery.

I haven’t talked to him on the phone, but we had this running joke, Paul and I. We’d be talking forever, be on the phone for an hour or two, and finally, whenever it was time for Paul to get off the phone, he’d go, ‘Are you going to be around later?’ And he never called me later.

It was just, it’s time to take this home. I heard the news just like everyone else, and I just texted him, ‘Hey man, I’m glad you’re gonna be around later,’ and he just said, ‘Me too. Love you, kiddo,’ and that’s it. That’s the extent of what I know. I wasn’t gonna say, ‘Tell me what happened.’ I don’t need to know. I just need to know he’s okay (Waltman starts choking up).

All at Hooked On Wrestling continue to wish Paul Levesque the best for a full and speedy recovery.
