Tony Khan announced on the most recent edition of Dynamite that as well as his position in AEW, he is the new owner of Ring Of Honor.
Having teased for a number of weeks that there was a big announcement incoming, All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan had gone so far as to liken the level of what he would reveal to when CM Punk returned to wrestling after a seven-year hiatus.
Despite having played his cards close to his chest during a media call earlier in the day, Khan appeared at the start of the 2nd March edition of AEW Dynamite, joining Tony Schiavone in the ring to make his big announcement.
After thanking the fans for their continued support of the company during the pandemic, the AEW President spoke of the 20 year history of Ring Of Honor, revealing that he is the new owner of the organisation.
Significantly, this also includes the purchase of ROH’s video library, as confirmed in the press release which was issued shortly after the announcement.

In late 2021 Ring Of Honor took a break from running shows, and let all of its contracted talent go, giving them the choice to find new opportunities or return once the company came back. The return show, Supercard Of Honor, is set to take place in Fort-Worth, Texas on 1st April.
The last event the promotion ran before the hiatus, and now before the change of ownership, was Final Battle in December. In the main event of that show, Jonathan Gresham defeated Jay Lethal to win the ROH World Championship. It was recently rumoured that Gresham was backstage at Dynamite, at the same time as a released WWE star was there.
