WWE legend The Undertaker has sensationally claimed that current superstar Omos is as close as the company have come to another Andre The Giant, and that he needs to protect himself because of it.
Andre The Giant was a French behemoth in the professional wrestling world, Vince McMahon created the Hall Of Fame upon Andre’s death in 1993 and made him the only inductee of the first class to honour the legacy he left behind.
Whilst there is no way he could fill the same shoes, The Undertaker is often likened to Andre The Giant due to his imposing size and character. Although claiming that he doesn’t match up to Andre, ‘The Dead Man’ has spoken of a current WWE superstar who he claims is as close as we’ve come.
Speaking on WWE The Bump, The Undertaker talked of the dominance of Omos, and how he needs to protect his size if he is going to be successful – going as far as to say that if things get tough, he should give him a call.
I’ll say this, there will never be another Andre The Giant but [Omos] is as close as we’ve come. That’s a big statement but he’s special. Omos is special and the big thing for him to know and to realise is that he is special and that he’s different from everybody else.
The average size of the wrestler, in general, is smaller than it was you know, so here’s this guy who is incredibly athletic and he’s incredibly huge – he’s just a big, big, strong man. It’s important for him that he protects that. He and I have had a couple of conversations about what he should do and what he shouldn’t do – if things get too heated, call me.
