WWE and Hollywood icon The Rock has sent WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross a message of support as Ross continues to battle skin cancer.

Current AEW announcer Jim Ross revealed on social media on October 23rd that he had been diagnosed with skin cancer. He went on to express gratitude to fans for their well wishes, explaining that he was consulting with his radiologist to determine the best course of treatment.

Later, Ross added that he had a “big month” coming up in November, calling it an “aggressive month.”

Ross announced on Twitter on November 26th that he was scheduled for radiation therapy in the coming weeks and would be absent from the AEW announce desk as a result. He stated that he hoped to return to Jacksonville on December 26th to call the final AEW Dynamite of 2021.

The update sparked an outpouring of well wishes from fans and wrestlers alike. One such message on social media came from none other than the man Jim Ross once hired, The Rock:

“Stay strong, JR! U got this. No steak eaters”

Fellow WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley also sent his best wishes, remarking that a visit from ‘Mrs. Foley’s baby boy’ might be just what the doctor ordered.
