After plenty of speculation, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin has now responded to the challenge of Kevin Owens, and confirmed that he will appear at this year’s WrestleMania.
Kevin Owens officially laid out the challenge to ‘The Texas Rattlesnake’ on the 7th February edition of Monday Night Raw, calling Austin out to appear at WrestleMania in his home state of Texas.
Having missed out on winning the Raw Tag Team Championships earlier in the show, Owens was looking for a new road to WrestleMania when he made it clear he wanted Steve Austin to be his guest on The KO Show.
I know you’re watching, and I don’t think you have the guts to show up, but the bottom line is that I’m calling you out, Stone Cold Steve Austin!
Less than 24 hours after receiving the challenge, the WWE Hall Of Famer has now responded and confirmed that he’ll meet Owens at WrestleMania, which is taking place at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.
19 years ago I wrestled my last match in a WWE ring. After three Rock Bottom’s, one, two, three, I lost the match. And for 19 years I’ve had to live with that defeat, knowing my time was up.
Kevin Owens, I want to thank you. I want to thank you for waking something up deep inside me that I’ve kept buried for 19 years. Ever since you started running that damn-mealy mouth of yours, talking about the state of Texas, the great state of Texas, you got my attention. And why would you want to do that Kevin?
I can think of two reasons. One. You are one dumb son of a bitch! Two. You are fixing to get your ass kicked by Stone Cold Steve Austin. Whether you wanna call this a KO Show, a match, a fight, a brawl, whatever. I will guarantee you this. In Dallas, Texas where I started my career, at WrestleMania, Stone Cold Steve Austin is gonna open up one last can of whoop-ass on you Kevin Owens.
And that’s the bottom line, ’cause Stone Cold said so.
