WWE have updated Shotzi Blackheart’s profile page on their website. Like numerous WWE Superstars prior, one of Smackdown’s latest additions has undergone a name shortening. Predictably, she is now using the name: Shotzi. The former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion went by “Blackheart” throughout her run in NXT, a name she retained from her time on the Independent circuit.

This follows her official main roster call-up, which took place on the July 9th episode of Smackdown. She teamed up with fellow NXT graduate Tegan Nox; a surprise considering Shotzi’s ongoing team with Ember Moon on NXT. Regardless, the duo secured a shock victory over WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Natalya and Tamina, in a non-title match. The Smackdown debutants secured the upset win when Shotzi pinned Natalya. Incidentally, Tegan Nox was identified simply as “Nox” on Friday night. Her profile page has not yet been updated as of this writing however.

Additionally, on Friday WWE aired a vignette for Toni Storm’s upcoming Smackdown debut. Dave Meltzer speculated on Wrestling Observer Radio that Vince McMahon is eager to add NXT talents to the main roster due to disappointing house show ticket sales. Meltzer suggested Karrion Kross, Scarlett and Bronson Reed, who recently dropped the NXT North American Championship, as potential upcoming call-ups.
