Image Suggests Shane McMahon Still Working For WWE

Shane McMahon

Shane McMahon’s return to the WWE may not have been as short-lived as first thought, if a new picture which has surfaced on social media is to be believed.

Making his return as a surprise entrant in the 2022 Royal Rumble match, Shane McMahon reportedly ruffled plenty of feathers. There was very quickly speculation that he had left the company just days after the appearance, with planned appearances at Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 38 scrapped completely.

As well as being a competitor in the Rumble contest, it would seem McMahon helped orchestrate the match as one of the agents, and had a number of his ideas nixed which didn’t sit too well with him leading to claims that he was unprofessional backstage.

However, whether it is a role which will see him return to our screens or not it would seem that Shane McMahon still has some kind of role with the organisation.

Owner of South African rugby team The Sharks Marco Masotti has posted a photo of himself on social media after a meeting with Shane McMahon regarding a deal with WWE. The meeting also involved Doug Cifu, co-owner of NHL franchise The Florida Panthers.

This doesn’t seem like it would necessarily change the scrapped plans for McMahon’s on-screen appearances, which would seen him make another WrestleMania moment in a high-profile match was muted to be against Seth Rollins. With this match off the books, it is being claimed that the card for ‘The Showcase Of The Immortals’ is currently “in complete flux”.

Before his appearance, Shane McMahon’s most recent appearance in a WWE ring was a cage match against Braun Strowman at WrestleMania 37.

Two matches are currently set in stone for WrestleMania, with Roman Reigns defending his Universal Championship against Men’s Royal Rumble Brock Lesnar, whilst Ronda Rousey who came in to win the women’s version of the contest has selected a contest with Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
