Sean Waltman Calls NXT 2.0 Segment “F*cking Brutal”

WWE Hall Of Famer Sean Waltman has gone on record that a recent segment on NXT 2.0 was some of the “worst sh*t” he’d ever seen.

NXT has gone through a massive style and branding change since last month, coining itself as NXT 2.0 and trying to push the focus on to new talent and the in-ring action they’re producing rather than any of the associations the three initials had with the black and gold brand.

Joe Gacy has been featured prominently on recent episodes of NXT, tailoring his promos towards what would be considered the woke generation and using plenty of buzzwords to try and get people talking.

Whilst the character has now been toned down somewhat since Gacy’s debut in the promotion, it has garnered plenty of media attention and has also caught the eye of Sean Waltman. Talking on his Pro Wrestling 4 Life podcast, the former X-Pac had plenty to say about Gacy’s NXT 2.0 debut.

That was f*cking brutal. If you’re doing that to specifically get at a certain group of people, you lost the f*cking plot. That was f*cking rotten. Some of the worst sh*t I’ve ever seen on a wrestling TV show.

Despite being given such a prominent character, Gacy lost his most recent televised match which was against current NXT Champion Tomasso Ciampa. Ciampa will now go on to face Bron Breakker at Halloween having, with many touting the title challenger as one of the next big things in professional wrestling.

This isn’t the only time that Sean Waltman has been vocal lately, especially on the subject of the revamped NXT. He also made a bold statement that the people who are currently running the brand are too old to be in the position they are in.
