Sasha Banks – “I Was P***ed Off Ronda Rousey Got More Money Than Me”

Sasha Banks and Ronda Rousey face off in the ring

Sasha Banks has revealed that she was “p***ed off” about Ronda Rousey earning more money than her during her time in WWE.

After stepping away from MMA, Ronda Rousey made her pro-wrestling debut with WWE at WrestleMania 34 where she teamed with Kurt Angle to defeat Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Following the match, Rousey climbed to the top of the Raw women’s division in record time, and became the Raw Women’s Champion at SummerSlam.

Rousey went on to hold title for almost eight months, finally losing it to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35. During her time in WWE, Rousey clashed with Sasha Banks, defending her championship against ‘The Boss’ at the 2019 Royal Rumble.

Speaking on The Kurt Angle Show, (available on AdFreeShows) Banks discussed the former UFC star’s time in WWE.

She admitted that she was “p***ed off” about Rousey earning more than her and got a better locker room, before questioning why Rousey, Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke used the name ‘The Four Horsewomen’.

“I can only speak for myself. There might be a little tension, I don’t know about real heat

“I was pissed off that Ronda Rousey could come in, get more money than me, get a (better) locker room than me, and bring all these people backstage and get more time than me. I’m like, ‘excuse me? who is you and what you do?’ Besides respecting everything she’s done in the UFC and the fight world, when it comes to the squared circle, that’s my home. That’s where I’m the legit boss, not Ronda Rousey.

“There could have been a lot of tension from the other three, I don’t know. I don’t even know why they call themselves the Four Horsewomen. ‘Thank you so much for being a fan, but that is our trademark,’ second, after Ric Flair.”

Sasha Banks went on to say that she would be happy to work with Ronda Rousey again in the future, praising how quickly she took to pro-wrestling and how easy she was to work with.

“I’m so down to working with Ronda again. I loved our match at Royal Rumble. To have a match with somebody that doesn’t have the professional wrestling background and was so new and fresh, I love challenges like that. She got it so quick because she did love it and was a fan and because over her fighting background, she knew how to take things and it flowed so easily and naturally. She was awesome to work with and I would love to have another match with her.”

Rousey finished her time in WWE after WrestleMania 35, although rumours continue to circulate that she will make a return. On September 27th, gave birth to a daughter named La’akea Makalapuaokalanipõ Browne.
