The ball is said to be in Ronda Rousey’s court regarding a Royal Rumble return – according to a new report.
New details concerning a possible Ronda Rousey return have emerged as the rumour mill swings into overdrive about a possible appearance at the Royal Rumble.
According to a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, “at least one” WWE official flew to California last week to meet with the former UFC star. In addition, Abraham Esparza – who worked as Rousey’s stylist and makeup artist during her last WWE run – is scheduled to be at the Royal Rumble and the following episode of Monday Night Raw. This has apparently been locked in for a number of weeks.
Furthermore, the report adds that the decision now rests solely with the former Raw Women’s Champion, commenting “it’s all on Rousey.” WWE, of course, reportedly want Rousey back ahead of WrestleMania.
On January 24th, it was reported that Rousey is training for a comeback and may even compete at the Royal Rumble. This was followed by another report claiming that a massive showdown between the former UFC star and Becky Lynch is being “heavily considered” for WrestleMania 38.
Lynch, never one to pass up an opportunity to upstage her opponents, took to social media to share a photo of herself alongside her Raw Women’s Championship. The caption took a shot at Rousey, as it stated: “I was wondering if you’d show up again, I still have her, and she’s doing fantastic.”
