Ronda Rousey has named the Superstar who she will face at WrestleMania 38.
Former UFC star Ronda Rousey has only been back in WWE for a matter of days, but she has already won the Royal Rumble and booked herself a championship opportunity at WrestleMania.
After entering the Royal Rumble match at number 28, Rousey wasted little time in getting down to business, taking control of the match. She quickly found herself in the final two up against Charlotte Flair before dispatching The Queen over the top rope to claim a memorable win. Her victory was even more impressive when it’s taken into account that she only gave birth to her daughter four months ago.
After her Rumble win, Rousey first made her way to Monday Night Raw to confront Becky Lynch. After a brief exchange of insults, Rousey left her rival laying promising to make her WrestleMania decision on the February 4th episode of SmackDown.
With SmackDown nearing it’s conclusion it was Charlotte Flair, and not Rousey who first came out to the ring. Flair was soon joined by Sonya Deville who informed her that Rousey was going to face Becky Lynch. In light of this, Flair laid down her own challenge to Sasha Banks. However, it turned out that Rousey still had something to say.
The former Raw Women’s Champion ran down Flair before naming her as her WrestleMania opponent. After Flair insulted Rousey’s daughter the two tried to get at each other but Deville intervened. Not that it turned out too well for the official, who was swiftly attacked by Rousey and trapped in her signature arm-bar.
SmackDown also saw the shocking return of Goldberg. As Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman celebrated costing Brock Lesnar the WWE Championship at Royal Rumble, they were quickly interrupted by the Hall of Famer. Goldberg said that although he acknowledged the Tribal Chief, he was going to be his next victim.
The two men will meet for the Universal Championship at Elimination Chamber on February 19th.
