Roman Reigns On Possible Match With The Rock On WWE Return: “I Would, This Is Our Family Business”

Roman Reigns & Paul Heyman

WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns has given his opinion on whether The Rock will appear at this year’s Survivor Series, and also said that if there was the opportunity for the pair to have a match at some point he would take it.

The Rock made his debut at the 1996 Survivor Series, and ending up being the sole survivor on his team in the traditional elimination tag match. WWE have been celebrating ‘Rock Month’ to mark the occasion, which has sparked hopes that ‘The Great One’ may make an appearance at this year’s Survivor Series.

Roman Reigns recently spoke to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, and turned the conversation in to his own debut at the event.

These are rumors, you’re saying? I haven’t heard these rumors and I would think I’m closer than anybody at this point. It’s not what I’ve heard, but I also debuted at Survivor Series as well, so it’s a nice little tie-in.

The current Universal Champion went on to talk about whether he would like to face ‘The Great One’ in the ring, which had originally been speculated for next year’s WrestleMania, and went on to say that he would be surprised if the return happened since this is “our platform”.

I would. I don’t know if he wants it. That’s something we do in our family as far as sports entertainment, professional wrestling, WWE, this is our platform and family business. I fought with my cousins The Usos about a year ago and where better to solve problems than the squared circle.

Unfortunately for those hoping that the clash could happen at next year’s ‘Showcase Of The Immortals’ in the AT&T Stadium in Texas, The Rock recently cooled those rumours saying that there is no truth in them right now, but the match could happen down the road.
