Ric Flair Reveals Who He Believes Is “The Best Performer In Wrestling Today”

Ric Flair throws 4 Horsemen gesture

Ric Flair has heaped praise on Randy Orton, claiming the current WWE Tag Team Champion is the best performer in the wrestling business today.

The ‘Nature Boy’ Ric Flair and Randy Orton have a storied history together. As part of Evolution, Flair was at Orton’s side as he made the first significant steps of his career in 2003, and the two teamed together to take on The Rock ‘n’ Sock Connection – The Rock and Mick Foley – at WrestleMania 20.

Following the end of Evolution in 2004, after Orton had been ejected from the group by Triple H, Flair and the ‘Legend Killer’ found themselves at loggerheads and went on to face off in a Steel Cage match at that year’s Taboo Tuesday. The pair would meet in the ring again at Judgement Day in 2009, but eventually rekindled their friendship in the summer of 2020. It didn’t last long, however, as Orton later turned on Flair, giving him a punt to the head.

Over the years, Flair has been open about his admiration for Orton, who, having captured 14 World Championships, is close to equalling Flair’s own record of 16 reigns at the top.

Following Orton’s latest appearance on WWE Raw, Flair took to Twitter to tell ‘The Viper’ that he still believes him to be the best in the world today.

On the latest episode of Raw, Orton and his partner in RK-Bro, Riddle, scored victories over both members of Alpha Academy, Otis and Chad Gable. They will hope to continue their winning ways at Day 1 on New Year’s Day when they are set to defend their titles against The Street Profits, who defeated Rey and Dominik Mysterio to stake their claim for the gold.
