The reports of CM Punk to AEW are gathering momentum very quickly, and even WWE sources seem to now be discussing it.
According to Dave Meltzer at The Wrestling Observer, WWE believe that Punk to AEW is already a done deal.
With Punk, a WWE source has said that internally the belief is that Punk has signed with AEW. There are a number of things going on behind-the-scenes that would indicate that, but nobody in AEW has confirmed it, and of course, they won’t until the decision is made for them to go public with something of that magnitude.
Given the magnitude of the potential signing, it’s most likely there will only be official confirmation on AEW’s terms.
This also ties in with the reports that Daniel Bryan has signed with AEW.
They will certainly want to these debuts under wraps, especially with All Out taking place in Punk’s hometown of Chicago on 5th September.
Whilst that would be the ideal time and location for Punk to debut, we can only hope that they are not forced to rush things given how this story is growing by the day.
