This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown took place in ECW’s native town of Philadelphia, and the blue brand’s colour commentator Pat McAfee knew exactly what to do on his entrance for the show.
Prior to the show, McAfee took advantage of the show’s location and had the strains of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” ring out through the Wells Fargo Center as he gave his own version of The Sandman’s iconic entrance.
Heading to the ring with a kendo stick, McAfee proceeded to hammer the announce desk which he then shared with Michael Cole for the rest of the night during commentary.

McAfee has certainly shown everyone his own personality plenty during his first few months at the announce desk with WWE, often seen either commentating from on top of the desk of celebrating alongside the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura and Ric Boogs.
This is something he could also celebrate on this week’s edition of SmackDown, as the current Intercontinental Champion successfully defend his belt against former title holder Apollo Crews, who was as always accompanied to the ring by Commander Azeez.
Also on this week’s episode, Finn Balor managed to close out the final show before this Sunday’s Extreme Rules by getting the upper hand on The Bloodline. After the lights went out, Balor’s revived Demon managed to take all three men down and leave them laying.
This week’s edition of SmackDown also featured Nikki A.S.H. defeated Natalya, before the team of Shotzi and Nox managed to fire the ‘first shot’ at Nikki and Rhea Ripley in what seems like it will be an upcoming battle for the Women’s Tag Team Championships. Riddick Moss also returned during a segment with Happy Corbin, and Zelina Vega picked up her first singles victory since returning to WWE when she took on Liv Morgan.
