Hot off the heels of WWE SummerSlam 2021, NXT moves TakeOver to the Sunday night to make a double-header of wrestling.

Despite his WWE release, Samoa Joe has returned to the company and straight to the top of the black and gold brand. After coming in as an insurance policy for William Regal, ‘The Samoan Submission Machine’ has been provoked in to an NXT Championship match against Karrion Kross.

The rest of the card is stacked, but also includes a two-out-of-three falls contest between Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly. The first fall, as chosen by O’Reilly, will be a straightforward wrestling match. Cole upped the ante making the second fall a no-disqualification match, with Regal determining that the final fall will be fought inside a steel cage.
