For the first time since February 2020, New Japan Pro-Wrestling are holding an event in front of fans on United States soil. The Japanese promotion has announced their ‘Resurgence’ Per-Per-View, which will take place on August 14th.

The event, which will be broadcast live on Pay-Per-View through FITE and NJPW World, is set to be held at The Torch at L.A. Coliseum. This is an open-air venue, with a capacity of 5,000, flexible up to 10,000. Tickets are on sale from June 30th.

Although no matches have been announced, a number of participants are listed. Included are the likes of IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley, NEVER Openweight Champion ‘Switchblade’ Jay White and STRONG Openweight Champion ‘Filthy’ Tom Lawlor. Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson, who in July will compete in NJPW for the first time since 2016, are also confirmed. Additionally, Shota Umino returns to NJPW after completing an excursion that began back in September 2019.

NJPW have long expressed a desire to expand into the U.S. They have not let the pandemic stop them. NJPW Strong, which predominantly features American talent, has been broadcast weekly from their L.A. Dojo since August. Nonetheless, their return to international touring will be welcomed by both the company and fans alike.
