Nia Jax “Hurt” By Suggestion She Injures Everybody

Former WWE Superstar Nia Jax has said that she is hurt by comments made about injuries she may have caused, hitting back at accusations over how her moves may look.

Nia Jax, real name Lina Fanene, joined WWE in 2014 and made her in-ring debut the following year on NXT. She went on to be drafted to Monday Night Raw after a long stint on the black and gold brand, and was a regular on shows all the way up to her release in November 2021.

She held plenty of gold during her time with the company, including being a two-time Women’s Tag Team Champion and holding the Raw Women’s Championship on one occasion. However, during this time there were plenty of claims that Jax was injuring fellow stars, and one incident at the build-up to the 2018 Survivor Series only went to enhance this.

Jax ended up breaking Becky Lynch’s nose and giving her a concussion during a brawl with the invading Team SmackDown, with the picture of ‘The Man’ afterwards spreading like wildfire. In the end Lynch was unable to compete at Survivor Series and was pulled from her high-profile contest with Ronda Rousey.

Talking with Renee Paquette on her The Sessions podcast, Nia Jax said that she had only injured two people, had apologised for it and was hurt by comments that she was more prone to hurting other stars than that.

That hurt… people [saying], ‘She injures everybody, she just hurts everybody.’ I can tell you this right now. In my career I know I’ve injured two people. Obviously Becky [Lynch] was one of them, and there’s another one that I don’t wanna call her out but I know I did, and I profusely apologized.

Jax went on to say that WWE’s hectic schedule also didn’t help how her moves looked on occasion, whilst once again saying she wasn’t going out of her way to hurt anyone.

Hey, guess what? We get in there and we’re going 300 days a year. Not all of my moves are gonna look super clean and smooth and just come out like cherries, but I’m not injuring people. I’m not purposely going out to hurt people. That’s what hurt me the most.

Nia Jax also commented during the podcast that WWE offered her the chance to return as part of the 2022, but her answer to the call was a rather emphatic no.
