Nia Jax Recalls Clashing With Fellow WWE Star At A Live Event

Nia Jax stands in ring

Nia Jax has revealed that her “shoot” clash with Charlotte Flair on Raw wasn’t the first time that things have gotten out of hand at one of her matches.

Nia Jax and Charlotte Flair had their now-famous match on Monday Night Raw in August 2021. During the bout, things seemed to get a little too real, with a number of “shoot” punches being fired and the two women becoming increasingly irritated.

The incident was eventually attributed to a communication breakdown, and Jax has since stated that she and Flair are still friends.

However, Jax, real name Lina Fanene, has now revealed that a similar incident had happened before.

Appearing on the Oral Sessions podcast with Renee Paquette, the former WWE star first discussed the match with Flair. She was then asked if anything like that had happened before, to which she explained that it actually had.

“On live events that’s happened before with somebody. When I first got up and I was kind of getting ‘the push’ and this certain person wasn’t too happy about it. She kind of did it with a lot of people and I was the project at the time.

At one point, I had it with her and I’m bigger. At the end of the day, I get that you might be a bigger star and personality, whatever you think you are, but I can handle you. I don’t have to do much, I can just handle you. I handled her at a live event, she got really mad and her and some other psycho yelled at me and I remember looking and laughing and being like, ‘Okay, see you tomorrow.’

Elsewhere in the conversation, Jax also addressed her reputation as being someone who was dangerous in the ring. The former WWE Superstar explained that she was hurt by the comments from fans, adding that she never intended to be unsafe or injure anyone.
