With this year’s WWE Draft now well underway, there are rumours that there are even more stars set to move from NXT to either Raw or SmackDown, and in particular from the women’s division.

There was plenty of drama with the women’s division picks on night one of the draft, in particular when Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair was drafted by SmackDown as the third overall pick. Bianca Belair was the next pick, and moves over to Monday nights.

Also selected so far are the WWE Women’s Champions Rhea Ripley and Nikki ASH, who were drafted to Raw alongside NXT’s Aliyah. Making the move to SmackDown were The Hit Row, including B-FAB, as well as Naomi.

Dave Meltzer in his Wrestling Observer Newsletter has commented that there is even more to come in regards to female wrestlers making the move away from NXT as part of this Draft. In particular he has noted that, along with Aliyah, Dakota Kai and Xia Li are “leading candidates among the women” to be brought to either Raw or SmackDown. The report also notes that the reasoning for Li being moved is “because WWE wants a legitimate Chinese star in the market after the success UFC had in that market when Zhang Weili became a champion.”

All three women mentioned, along with Austin Theory, have recently been brought to either Raw or SmackDown to compete in dark matches recently. Theory has also been drafted to Raw, giving another indication that moves for Kai and Li could be imminent.
