During their time with WWE, Mojo Rawley has revealed a time at the Performance Center where Yoshi Tatsu had the rest of the class in stitches.
The incident happened whilst WWE coach Norman Smiley had the class running drills, and it left their trainer and the rest of the class on their floor laughing with the line Yoshi Tatsu came out with.
Speaking with Chris Hero on his on Shoot Conversations podcast, Rawley revealed how Tatsu’s joke evolved.
One of Norman Smiley’s drills in practice is, you put somebody in a headlock and work on calling spots where no one could hear them. Everyone would stand on the apron and try and listen and if they could hear you, you had to do conditioning drills.
‘Yoshi, tell Mojo a story.’ I’m in a headlock and he’s whispering, ‘I got new CD.’ ‘Okay.’ ‘I got new CD.’ ‘Yes, I heard that part.’ ‘I got new CD.’ ‘What the hell man?’ Call the next thing, the clock is ticking, we’re gonna get buzzed and look like jerks. He’s like, ‘Do you know what CD?’ ‘No! What?’ ‘See deez nuts.’
I lost my mind. I was dying. Norman and the whole class was on the floor.
Tatsu originally signed for WWE in 2007 and went to its developmental FCW brand. Making the step originally to the revived ECW in 2009, he went on to work for all of the company’s major brands before his release in 2014.
Now showing his craft in All Japan Pro Wrestling, Tatsu also worked for NJPW following his release.
Mojo Rawley was released by WWE on 15th April 2021, a year to the day from the releases which were classed by many as “Black Wednesday”. Rawley was recently interviewed by Chris Van Vliet where he commented he would like to return to wrestling, but is in no rush to do so and is currently exploring entering the world of acting.
