Mansoor Officially A Member Of WWE Raw Roster: Makes Debut In Non-Title Match

In a backstage segment on Raw this week with WWE official Adam Pearce, it was confirmed that Saudi Arabian superstar Mansoor is now an official member of the Raw roster.

His first match on the brand came against United States Champion Sheamus who interrupted Mansoor’s signing to challenge the recent 205 Live mainstay to a non-title match later in the show.

Sheamus won the match via disqualification after he was attacked mid-match by Humberto Carillo.

The disqualification loss actually put an end to a 49-match winning streak by Mansoor who signed with WWE after a tryout in Jeddah ahead of their Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia in April 2018.

Since then he has wrestled primarily on NXT development events and more recently on 205 Live and Main Event.

His most high profile matches have, unsurprisingly, come on WWE’s Saudi Arabian events. His first appearance on one of these shows saw him win a 51-man battle royal at Super ShowDown in June 2019. Since then he has beaten both Cesaro and Dolph Ziggler in singles action.

Mansoor has shown significant promise in his high profile matches so far and looks to be slotting into the midcard on the brand. His promotion lends more credibility to the reports that WWE is planning to return to Saudi Arabia for a match before the end of 2021. It doesn’t take a huge leap of faith to expect to see Mansoor win his first WWE gold at that event if it happens.
