It would appear WWE is in the throws of releasing a number of personnel, including wrestlers and top-level backstage staff.

Reports started emerging earlier today that The Road Dogg and William Regal had been let go from their positions as part of NXT 2.0. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful received a statement from WWE which explained that the releases were part of the evolution of the former black and gold brand.

WWE issued Fightful a statement saying “With the continued evolution of NXT 2.0, we’ve decided to part ways with some of the staff based in our Performance Center. We thank them for their many contributions throughout the years and wish them the best.”

It would seem that this may have just been the tip of the iceberg, as the list continues to grow of who Sapp and other sources are reported as being released.

In addition to personnel working behind the scenes for the company, the list now seemingly includes Timothy Thatcher and Danny Burch, who had seemingly been working backstage as part of the coaching team.

The full list as it stands of staff reportedly released by WWE on 5th January 2022 is:

  • William Regal
  • Road Dogg
  • Timothy Thatcher
  • Danny Burch
  • Samoa Joe
  • Hideki Suzuki of Diamond Mine
  • Cathy Corino (also known as Allison Danger)
  • Ace Steel
  • Ryan Katz
  • Dave Kapoor
  • Scott Armstrong
  • George Carroll
  • Sarah Cummins, Senior VP of Consumer Products

We will endeavour to keep this list up to date as and when more names emerge.
