WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has explained that he would have somewhat reluctantly had a UFC fight with WWE star Brock Lesnar, but there would have been certain terms needed to make it happen.
There were plenty of instant classics between the Olympic gold medallist and ‘The Beast Incarnate’ during their time in WWE. However, Angle never stepped in to the world of mixed martial arts, despite there being offers on the table in the past for him to do so. This offer came at the time Angle left WWE in 2006, but at that point he decided to head to IMPACT Wrestling instead. There was seemingly another offer in 2010, but by that point it seemed like the time had passed for the Hall Of Famer and that he was too old to make the jump.
Speaking on The Kurt Angle Show, multi-time World Champion Angle said that he would have gone in to the fight if the money was right to do so, even though he would not have particularly wanted to face Lesnar due to their friendship.
I would not want to fight Brock out of respect for him and the friendship we had. But if the money were right, I know he would want to fight me and I know I would want to fight him too. It is all about money. Sometimes it kind of sucks, you can’t take that personally because you’re trying to provide money to take care of them. That comes first before friendship, so I’m sure Brock and I, if they would’ve gave us the right figure, we probably would’ve went at it.
Angle’s podcast has become incredibly popular in a short space of time. He was recently given a number of very noteworthy opinions, including who the best overall entertainer in the history of wrestling is.
