Kofi Kingston has given his reaction to his elimination from the 2022 Royal Rumble, where his streak of escaping being taken out of the match through a variety of tricks ended in spectacular fashion.
Having been a part of fourteen Royal Rumble matches, Kofi Kingston has come up with plenty of ingenious ways to thwart the threat of elimination. This includes using the likes of the steel steps, the ringside barrier and even JBL’s chair at commentary to make sure he keeps at least one of his feet from touching the floor.
Entering the 2022 Royal Rumble at number 24, everyone expected similar trickery to previous years when the former WWE Champion was swiftly dumped over the top rope by Kevin Owens. However, his attempts to catch himself on the ringside barrier went wrong and both feet clearly touched the floor, causing him to be eliminated from the match in just 21 seconds.
Kofi Kingston has taken to social media to give his take on his streak coming to an end.
Welp! *crying laughing emoji* ‘It is Better to Try and Fail Than Never to Try at All.’

Reports following the match suggest that Kofi Kingston was set to have at least some interaction with his New Day partner Big E, who entered the match just two spots later at number 26. Although some suggested that the fall was planned, it would seem this was not the case and his interaction with Big E would have come to fruition were it not for the slip.
Eventually the Men’s Royal Rumble match was won by number 30 entrant Brock Lesnar, who entered as a surprise having lost the WWE Championship to Bobby Lashley earlier in the night after significant interference from Universal Champion, Roman Reigns. This included a double-cross from Paul Heyman, who handed ‘The Head Of The Table’ the title belt to nail Lesnar.
