The go-home episode of NXT 2.0 before next week’s Hallowe’en Havoc came from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. On the show we saw that Andre Chase was no match for Odyssey Jones, Gargano and Lumis got one over on Hayes and Trick, and Tony D’Angelo defeated a debuting Ru Feng. Plus all of this:
Title match made for Halloween Havoc
The Creed Brothers, Julius Creed and Brutus Creed, were annoyed that they’ve not been given a Tag Team Title shot and so announced that they would be taking things in to their own hands starting with Imperium. Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner were outnumbered as The Diamond Mine were at ringside to back up the Creeds, but when Ikemen Jiro and Kushida ran out and began attacking the faction Barthel used the distraction and got the roll-up pin on Julius. Imperium stood tall in the ring until NXT Tag Team Champions MSK attacked the duo, and set the match for the titles next Tuesday at Halloween Havoc.
Cora carried on conquering
Newcomer Cora Jade kept her winning ways in a match against Elektra Lopez. There’s no doubt that Jade was out-powered completely as Lopez hit her with a big slam to the mat, a splash in the corner and yet another slam to the canvas (followed by ANOTHER for good measure). Cora, however, came out on top after a small package got her the three count, and she left a very angry and shocked Elektra in the ring.
Io Shirai spun the wheel and made the deal
A match was held featuring Io Shirai vs. Persia Pirotta vs. Jacy Jayne representing their respective teams, and the winner would spin the wheel to decide what the stipulation would be for the Triple Threat match at Halloween Havoc for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles. Jayne and Shirai seemed to team up against the powerful Pirotta but not long afterwards Io hit a Moonsault to the outside which took Jayne out of the match.
Persia came close to pinning the Tag Team Champion after a huge Sitdown Powerbomb but Shirai kicked out, rallied and hit another Moonsault to get the win. After the match Shirai and teammate Zoe Starks spun the wheel and it landed on the “Scareway To Hell Ladder Match.”
L.A. Knight to present the fright on the night
Grayson Waller and L.A. Knight met in the ring to see which of them would get the honour of being the host for Halloween Havoc. Waller tried to put Knight away early with multiple roll-up attempts but fell short and fell hard to the BFT from L.A. Three seconds later and L.A. Knight was announced as the host for Havoc.
Ciampa and Breakker teamed up
WWE NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa teamed up with his Halloween Havoc opponent Bron Breakker in the main event when they took on The Grizzled Young Veterans – James Drake and Zack Gibson. Breakker had promised to keep Ciampa safe and healthy for when they meet next Tuesday and he stuck to his word, seemingly refusing to tag in Tommaso and instead he tried to go it alone against the GYV.
Ciampa finally managed to get himself in to the match but was double teamed by the Veterans on multiple occasions. When he managed to get to his corner he tagged Bron in with a slap and Breakker used his anger to hit Drake with the Gorilla Press in to a Powerslam to get the win.
