Kenny Omega has revealed that he almost had a match with Mick Foley a few years ago, and that he felt it would have been “something special”.
‘The Cleaner’ was responding to a fan comment on Twitter where there had been a discussion about dream matches Omega could have had. When The Hardcore Icon’s name was mentioned, the AEW World Champion responded to say that the match was almost a reality.
According to Omega it was in the pipeline a few years ago, but ended up being a battle on the microphone instead.
Little known fact is that this almost happened a few years back. Ended up as a fun mic battle instead. Would’ve been something special.

‘The Best Bout Machine’ has recently had his hands full in All Elite Wrestling with Bryan Danielson. The former Daniel Bryan made his AEW debut at All Out, going straight after Omega. The pair would then clash in Danielson’s first match in the company at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, where the title was not on the line. The match would go to a draw.
Mick Foley is still one of the most active people on the wrestling scene, despite hanging his boots up back in 2012. He regularly makes appearances at independent promotions along with sporadic showings on television.
In recent times Foley has been particularly vocal towards the state of WWE and how well All Elite Wrestling is doing. This includes saying that WWE “has a problem” and that at the moment he wouldn’t trust the company’s creative team.
