Jon Moxley AEW Return Confirmed
It has been confirmed that Jon Moxley will make his triumphant return to AEW on January 19th.
AEW President Tony Khan revealed on social media in early November that Jon Moxley had entered an outpatient alcohol treatment programme. Khan said in his statement that Moxley had made a “courageous” decision and that the organization would assist him in every manner possible.
Moxley had just defeated Jimmy Jacobs at REVOLVER Tales From The Ring 4 in what would turn out to be his final bout for over three months when the announcement was made.
Posting on social media, AEW have now confirmed that the former AEW World Champion will be back on Dynamite on January 19th. Ahead of the show it had already been announced that TNT Champion Cody Rhodes would also be returning to AEW’s flagship show.
The news comes after it was announced that Moxley would be defending his GCW World Championship against Homicide at The Wrld on GCW at the Hammerstein Ballroom.

Moxley was competing in the AEW World Title Eliminator tournament when he stepped away from the ring. The former World Champion was set to face Orange Cassidy in the semi-finals after defeating Ten of the Dark Order. Instead, Miro took Moxley’s place, crushing Cassidy and losing to Bryan Danielson in the Full Gear final.
Danielson fought AEW Champion Hangman Adam Page to a time-limit draw in the months that followed, before losing in a bloody rematch.
On October 9th, Moxley defeated Nick Gage in his most recent match in GCW.
