Jeff Hardy Wants 1 More Match With Edge

Jeff Hardy has confessed that he wants to fight long-time adversary Edge one last time before they call it a day.

Jeff Hardy and Edge have had a legendary rivalry for more than two decades. When the Hardy Boyz faced Edge and Christian on Shotgun Saturday Night in 1999, it was the first time the two men shared a ring but it would be far from the last.

The pair competed in the first-ever Tag Team Ladder Match and the first-ever TLC Match in the following years. Edge Spearing Jeff Hardy from a ladder while Hardy clings to the title belts hanging above the ring is one of the most iconic moments in WWE history and is replayed to this day.

The rivalry was reignited later in their careers, with memorable clashes for the WWE and World Championship belts. Two of Hardy’s three WWE World Title victories have come against Edge, while at the 2009 Royal Rumble Edge captured the WWE Title from Hardy when he was betrayed by his brother Matt.

Jeff Hardy admitted in a new interview with SportBIBLE that he wants to get in the ring with The Rated R Superstar once again:

“Actually, last month I spoke to Edge and I think he said something, ‘I think we gotta do it one more time’. Totally. Even in the Rumble last year, I didn’t last no time – I was in and out and he won the Rumble. I had said beforehand that it would be cool if me and Edge had this face-off, just for a moment because of our history. As long as he keeps his health and I keep mine, that’s another big match.”

Hardy also expressed his desire for another World Title run and the opportunity to work with Kevin Owens in the future:

“I’ve kind of dreamt about that – especially the Universal Championship. I’ve talked about that a lot, with Roman Reigns and the Usos – the Bloodline is so strong now and I feel like I could fit in – especially the way the crowds have been with me. They are really with me and they give that adrenaline that was missing in the Thunderdome era. But now that I’m still here I feel like that [the Reigns match] has to happen.”

“I’ve never worked with Kevin Owens and I always forget to mention Kevin Owens. I got to work with Sami Zayn and AJ [Styles] in that last ladder match, which was amazing. If it’s not Roman Reigns, maybe Kevin Owens when I go back to Raw next year whatever happens.”

Jeff Hardy most recently competed at Survivor Series as a member of Team SmackDown. The ‘Charismatic Enigma’ was his team’s last hope but Hardy eventually fell to Raw’s sole survivor Seth Rollins.
