Isaiah Scott will be a very busy person once his non-compete clause expires, if a new report is to be believed.
Also known by the name Shane Strickland, Isaiah Scott was part of a surprising raft of releases on 18th November 2021 which also included fellow Hit Row member Ashante Adonis and Top Dolla. This came just week after B-Fab had also been let go by WWE, marking the sudden demise of a group which had proven extremely popular in NXT and recently moved to SmackDown.
Before his release Scott was thought to have a bright future ahead with the company, having previously held the North American Championship. Although his journey didn’t continue with WWE, it would seem that there are many suitors already in line for his signature.
A new report from Fightful Select claims that a number of promotions have already been in touch to try and get Isaiah Scott to sign on the dotted line.
It is believed, according to the report, that “multiple” companies would like Scott to join them, whilst there are already plans in place for him to work with one “major” promotion in some capacity. Two promotions named as having some contact were AEW, who were in touch with him early on during his no-compete clause, and NJPW USA making one was described as “a very firm overture”. MLW are also expected to make contact with Scott, if they haven’t already.
Isaiah Scott made a name for himself in many promotions including MLW and Lucha Underground before signing with WWE in 2019. He was initially part of the NXT Breakout Tournament before being a regular member of the Cruiserweight roster and then becoming a villain when he joined Hit Row early in 2021.
The group moved to SmackDown in October 2021, shortly before all members of the team were released. Scott has sporadic appearances confirmed since leaving WWE, including an appearance at PROGRESS Wrestling just days after his non-compete clause expires.
