Multiple stars will be missing when AEW Dynamite premieres on TBS for the first time after testing positive for COVID-19.
The highly anticipated move of AEW Dynamite going from TNT to TBS will take place on January 5th. The company will crown their first-ever TBS Champion as Jade Cargill faces Ruby Soho, while Bryan Danielson and AEW Champion Hangman Adam Page renew their feud in what is expected to be the main event after the two men previously wrestled to an hour-long draw for Page’s AEW World Title.
However, it has been reported that several stars will not be attending the show due to positive COVID-19 tests. The Young Bucks’ used their bio on Twitter to announce that Matt Jackson has tested positive for the virus.
Associate Stooge of The Elite Brandon Cutler is also dealing with COVID-19, according to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer. Since both Cutler and Matt Jackson obviously have a close relationship with Nick Jackson, he will also be missing from the show.
Nick Jackson was previously infected with COVID-19 in September 2020, with Jackson suffering adverse effects for three months.
As well as the TBS and World Titles being decided on the show, the AEW World Tag Team Titles will also be on the line. Following the ill-feeling caused by a massive 10-man tag team match the previous week, Jurassic Express challenged Lucha Bros to do battle for their gold.
Also scheduled for the TBS debut of All Elite Wrestling is Brian Pillman Jr. facing Malakai Black in an attempt to exact vengeance for his Varsity Blonde partners, Griff Garrison and Julia Hart.
