Former WWE Tag Team Champion Claims Karrion Kross Ring Attire Originally Pitched To Him

Karrion Kross

Making his move from NXT to WWE Raw, Karrion Kross headed to the red branding sporting a new look. It would now seem that this look had originally been pitched to a tag team.

Kross surprisingly lost his Raw debut in less than two minutes to Jeff Hardy, but has recently picked up a bit more momentum from this, getting a victory back over Hardy, battling with Keith Lee and then most recently defeating John Morrison on the 6th September edition.

The entrance attire worn by Kross has been likened to that worn in the past by Demolition, but it now appears that it had been pitched to a much more recent tag team.

Erick Rowan, now known on the independent wrestling scene as Erick Redbeard, spoke to Chairshots To The Cranium podcast about when the image was pitched to him and Luke Harper for The Bludgeon Brothers.

I remember the first pitch meeting for it. They showed us pictures of what they wanted The Bludgeon Brothers to look like. I think it’s almost exactly what Karrion Kross is wearing right now. It’s the Demolition leather straps that look like suspenders while you wrestle. We both looked at each other like, ‘No…’ I think that’s when I had a few friends design some things.

The Bludgeon Brothers held the SmackDown Tag Team Championships once, the same as they held the titles on the black and gold brand. The look they ended up with was very different, carrying oversized hammers to the ring with the intention of doing their bludgeoning.

Luke Harper would go on to join AEW as Brodie Lee in March 2020, and a month later Rowan was also released from his WWE contract. Lee tragically passed away in December 2020, with Rowan making an appearance at AEW’s tribute event to show his respects.
