Dolph Ziggler has revealed that wrestling Goldberg made him think about the possibility of dying in the ring more than normal.
In an interview on ‘XeniaDidThat‘, Ziggler spoke about his career so far and the trust he has built with WWE in his time with the company.
He was also asked if he had ever thought about death before starting a match. The former World Champion said he didn’t think about it most of the time, but with certain opponents, it’s on his mind more than usual.
“A lot of times you don’t [think about dying in the ring] but maybe if you’re in there with Goldberg, you think about it a lot more.”
Ziggler and the WWE Hall of Famer have only met in the ring on one occasion, at SummerSlam in 2019. In a match that lasted less than two minutes, Ziggler was defeated by the former WCW Champion’s signature Spear and Jackhammer combo.
Goldberg will next be in action in a WWE ring when he faces Bobby Lashley at Crown Jewel on October 21st. Goldberg demanded the match in retaliation for Lashley attacking his son earlier this year at SummerSlam after their match. Lashley accepted on the condition it was No Holds Barred, something Goldberg was all too happy to accept.
