Cody Rhodes’ Team Reportedly Already Negotiating With WWE

Cody Rhodes

With the news officially breaking yesterday that Cody Rhodes and Brandi are no longer working for All Elite Wrestling, it looks like the former TNT Champion has moved swiftly to get things moving for his next destination.

Cody Rhodes was instrumental in the early days of AEW, including putting on the All In show which acted as the launchpad for the company alongside The Young Bucks. All three men, alongside Kenny Omega, were announced as Senior Vice Presidents when the company officially formed on New Year’s Day 2019, whilst Brandi Rhodes held the position of Chief Brand Officer as well as being an in-ring performer.

On 15th February 2022, Cody Rhodes, Brandi and AEW President Tony Khan all issued statements confirming their departure from the company. Khan thanked the duo for everything they had done in the early years of the company, whilst wishing them the best of luck with their next move.

Andrew Zarian is now reporting that Cody Rhodes could already have his next destination in sight, being a surprising return to WWE.

I can confirm that Cody’s camp has been in contact with WWE officials.

Rhodes worked for WWE for almost a decade having made his debut for the organisation in 2007. During that time he held both the Tag Team Championships and Intercontinental Championship.

After leaving the company following his run as Stardust, ‘The American Nightmare’ spent a significant time working on the independent scene, including appearances for the likes of Ring Of Honor and NJPW. He was an instrumental member of The Bullet Club during that time, where he teamed with his now former fellow Executive Vice Presidents.
