WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair has hit back at the lack of appreciation she is receiving from some corners of the wrestling community, and given some insight as to her opinion on why it is happening.

Winning multiple title belts across all brands during her time with WWE, Charlotte Flair has fast become one of the most decorated female wrestlers of all time, and spoke on the matter ahead of her brand-against-brand match against Becky Lynch at Survivor Series.

However, ‘The Queen’ claims that she won’t get the full appreciation she deserves until after she is gone, as that is the way things work.

Speaking on The Masked Man Show, Charlotte Flair made it clear that when she is finally gone she’ll be seen as the best ever, regardless of gender.

I don’t think people appreciate me right now,

Not until something or someone is gone do they realize what they have. And when I’m gone, I will go down as the greatest ever, man or woman.

The second-generation star went on to explain that she feels people think she gets dealt the easier cards due to her father being ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair, but that it couldn’t be further from the truth, and that her surname holds no extra weight for her backstage.

The reason I don’t put down others is because I know what it’s like to be torn down every single day. Every single day, someone wants to take away my success. Oh, it was handed to her. Oh, it was given to her. Oh, she’s Ric Flair’s daughter. Oh, she politics. All these things. No one can accept the fact that if my last name wasn’t Flair, I would still be the best athlete in this company, man or woman.”

Because I am a Flair, they automatically think I can just walk into Vince’s office because I’m Ric Flair’s daughter and be like, ‘This is what I want to do today’. If that was the case, don’t you think I would have a longer title run than 8 seconds a couple of years ago at Money In The Bank?

The contest Flair speaks about is after she was victorious over Becky Lynch at Money In The Bank, only for Bayley to cash in her briefcase and win the match in short order.

The real-life animosity between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch became very clear in advance of their Survivor Series clash, where ‘The Man’ defeated ‘The Queen’.
