On night one of WWE WrestleMania 37, Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks made history in a number of ways.

No doubt the emotion was building up for those watching, especially with fans back in attendance at a WWE show for the first time in over a year, but it was huge for those two women in the ring as well.

Belair clearly got emotional before her and ‘The Boss’ came together in the ring for the first time, and in an interview with Sportskeeda she has discussed that moment.

I was just overcome with all types of emotion. Just the fact that we were at WrestleMania. It was the main event. We were at the main event of WrestleMania and we were creating history. When I looked across at Sasha Banks, I couldn’t help but smile. I know that we were both fighting for a title, but it was… This moment, it was more than just about me. It was more than just about Sasha. It was more than just about us

Belair completed her rise to the top of the ladder in the match, walking away SmackDown Women’s Champion.

It was noted on The Bump on Sunday that she was the ‘EST Of Family’ as she appeared on the show whilst travelling to help her parents who had broken down.

She also commented on how family made an important part of the moment for her.

I heard the crowd going crazy and I turned around and my husband was sliding into the ring. So to be able to share that moment with him, in the ring, and also he didn’t get to have his WrestleMania match this year… So I was so happy that he got to be in the ring at some point in time, but also being in the ring with me. And then being able to jump in the audience with my family. That was like one of my favourite parts of the whole entire match.

With Belair, Rhea Ripley and Raquel Gonzalez winning the SmackDown, Raw and NXT Women’s Championships respectively it has been a real changing of the guard, and gives WWE’s women’s division a real freshness for the coming months – as well as having fantastic new focal points who can carry the strain for years to come.
