Ronda Rousey may be a former UFC star and WWE Raw Women’s Champion, but Becky Lynch had a very simple response ahead of a possible return – don’t.
Over the last few years the pair have clashed plenty of times. The rivalry goes back to when both women held the title belts for the red and blue brand, with Rousey being Raw Women’s Champion and ‘The Man’ in charge of the SmackDown version.
Whilst the original plan was for the pair to clash at the cross-brand event, as is often the case in wrestling things fell apart due to unforeseen circumstances. On this occasion it was how Becky Lynch led an invasion on Monday Night Raw, only to end up with a broken nose which would put her out of action.
This meant the clash was delayed, but they would end up facing each other in the main event triple-threat match of WrestleMania 35 in New Jersey where both the SmackDown and Raw Women’s Championships where on the line. Becky Lynch walked away from that with both belts after pinning Rousey in what was her most recent WWE match, and a contest which also included Charlotte Flair making her entrance by helicopter.
Both Lynch and Rousey have been away from the ring and given birth to their first children since that contest. The Man gave birth in December 2020, whilst Rousey brought her child in to the world in September 2021.
Becky Lynch recently gave some advice to Rousey via TMZ Sports about making a return to the squared circle, and it was very simple – don’t come back.
Don’t [come back], cause I’m still on top, Ronda, you won’t like it. That’s my advice.
Lynch also explained how her child is on the road with her, and how much making her return to the ring has meant.
It’s been crazy, It went from zero to 100 real quick. Coming back, and coming back on top after not wrestling for a year and a half. It’s been wild, but it’s been amazing. And, my baby comes along everywhere with me.
Becky Lynch is scheduled to face Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair at Crown Jewel, defending the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
