Former WWE Women’s Champion Bayley has provided a major update on her recovery from injury, having been sidelined for several months so far.
Bayley suffered a torn ACL back in July 2021 whilst preparing for WWE’s return to live touring during a training session at the Performance Centre.
It was reported at the time that her knee “popped” during some chain wrestling, and that the recovery period could be up to nine months.
Speaking to fans on Instagram Live recently, the former Women’s Champion provided an update of where she is at now, claiming that a return is only a matter of time given her she is feeling.
Anyway, people are asking how my knee is. So, my knee is doing great, my leg’s doing great, my ankle’s doing great, my shin is doing great, my hip is doing great, my mind is doing great… so, I mean it’s only a matter of time.
Although she would not give a specific date, ‘The Role Model’ did at least say that her return would be “soon” and that everyone better be ready.
I’m not gonna tell you when, and I don’t want all these idiots watching to know when, but I’m gonna be coming back soon, maybe, you know… you better be ready, better be ready.
Bayley was originally slated to wrestle Bianca Belair for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship at Money In The Bank, however her injury curtailed the contest. Belair ended up losing the belt to a returning Becky Lynch at SummerSlam, who then (now infamously) swapped titles with Charlotte Flair after the 2021 Draft.
