Asuka Reportedly Cleared For Return

A new report has suggested that former Raw Women’s Champion Asuka could be heading back to WWE.

Asuka hasn’t wrestled since competing in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match on July 18th 2021.Early in the year The Empress of Tomorrow had sustained an injury at the hands of Shayna Baszler which saw her require dental surgery.

The star shared a photo of herself with her dentist in August as she underwent further treatment, however, in the post Asuka could be seen wearing a brace on her arm. At the time, there was no news on what the injury might be, or how long the former NXT Women’s Champion would be out of action.

Although there is now some good news for fans of the Japanese star after it was reported by Andrew Zarian of The Mat Men Podcast that she “should be cleared.”

With Royal Rumble season it full-swing and the event itself only a matter of weeks ago, some fans have wondered whether Asuka could be set for a surprise return alongside the likes of Charlotte Flair and Mickie James.

The news arguably couldn’t come at a better time for WWE after it was recently announced that Sasha Banks will miss the event due to injury. At time of writing, Bayley is also currently out injured.

Asuka signed for WWE in the summer of 2015, where she initially appeared in NXT. During her time on what was the black and gold brand, the star racked up a record NXT Women’s Championship reign spanning more then 500 days.

After moving to the main roster, Asuka continued her impressive form winning every WWE Women’s Championship available as well as the Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank. Asuka is a two-time Women’s Tag Team Champion, two-time Raw Women’s Champion and one-time SmackDown Women’s Champion.
