WWE Raw this week came to us from the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. On the show we saw Dominik cost Rey a match against Theory, Balor overcame Gable, and an excellent Women’s Title match started the show:
Becky and Bianca battled for the belt
Bianca Belair took on Becky Lynch in the opening of this week’s WWE Raw, and it was for the Raw Women’s Championship. Reversals and close falls were the order of the night as each Superstar matched the other’s offence, including Lynch managing to counter a vertical suplex (while she was IN the suplex) into an inside cradle roll-up for a very close two count.
Belair then got Becky up for the K.O.D but the Champ held on to the corner pad and ended up pulling it from the ropes, and exposed the turnbuckle. She then sent Belair face first into the exposed metal and rolled her up for the pin which meant that after an incredible opening match, Big Time Becks retained the championship.
Carmella and Vega beat the champs
Following a backstage altercation, Carmella and Queen Zelina teamed up to take on the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H in a Championship Contender’s match. Towards the end of the match Ripley had been taken out on the outside and in the ring Nikki was distracted by Carmella on the apron. This gave the chance for Queen Zelina to hit a Sunset Powerbomb on the (almost) Superhero and got the win over the Tag Team Champions.
Omos got involved, yet again
Last week Omos cost the Street Profits the chance to challenge for the WWE Raw Tag Team titles and helped the Dirty Dawgs get the win. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins wanted revenge on Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode and so a match was set. The match ended much like the previous.
Omos made his presence known and due to the distraction Ziggler hit Ford with a Zigzag and got the pin for his team. After the match Omos took out both of the Profits and also Riddle, who had been on commentary with Randy Orton. The Viper himself (intelligently) chose not to attack Omos.
Priest and T-BAR didn’t hold back
Following on from their match last week, Damian Priest and T-BAR met once again in the ring on WWE Raw, but this time there were no rules. Both men came in to the no-disqualification match with bad intentions and they both delivered.
At one point T-BAR had Priest caught up in the ropes and broke a kendo stick across his chest which, instead of putting him down, fired up the Archer of Infamy. Damian unloaded on the former RETRIBUTION member with multiple chair shots and followed those with a cjokeslam from the apron through a table on the outside (which absolutely EXPLODED).
Priest then brought the big man back inside the ring, hit The Final Reckoning, and it was all over. That is until Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez came out to the ramp and told Damian that soon he would have the privilege to face Apollo in combat, and would lose the United States Championship.
Big E vs. Kevin Owens
Following on from Kevin Owens interrupting the conversation between Seth Rollins and Big E earlier in the night, the main event of WWE Raw was set. Owens and Big E went one-on-one in a non-title match with K.O. wanting to prove that he was the face of Raw.
After a hard-hitting match both men were down on the mat and as the referee checked on Owens, Seth Rollins took the opportunity to hit Big E with a cheap shot.
Kevin saw what had happened and seemed reluctant to go for the pin but covered Big E. The WWE Champion reversed the pin attempt in to his own and got the three count much to the shock of Rollins.
After the bell Owens apologised to Big E for what happened and challenged Seth to a match for next week. He then apologised to Big E once more but the champ didn’t accept, and instead he hit Owens with the Big Ending as Raw went off the air.
