1. Drew McIntyre takes on a visiting Baron Corbin
This week on Monday Night Raw saw Baron Corbin using the brand-to-brand invitational to take up Jindar Mahal’s offer of going against Drew McIntyre. The end of the match came about with McIntyre ready to deliver the Claymore Kick but Corbin pleaded with the Scotsman. Drew then asked how much Corbin needed to get up and get a shower. “$100,000”. McIntyre laughed, hit the Claymore, and got the pin.
After the bell, Jinder Mahal, Veer and Shanky appeared on the stage but before they could get any closer to the ring, McIntyre grabbed his sword and scared the trio away.
2. Alexa Bliss (with Lilly) defeats Doudrop
Alexa Bliss had the watchful eye of Lilly the doll set up at ringside. Doudrop was in control of most of the match (despite the ‘we want Wyatt’ chants) until the doll caught her attention and winked, causing the distraction for Bliss to get the roll-up pin and win.
3. Damien Priest challenges Sheamus at Summerslam
After defeating John Morrison in a few match, the Archer of Infamy called Sheamus to the stage and officially challenged him for the United States Championship at the upcoming Summerslam PPV. After Sheamus accepted Morrison tried to attack Priest from behind but Priest knocked him down with a huge Brogue kick then told Sheamus that would be him at Summerslam.
4. Bobby Lashley addressed his Summerslam match against Goldberg
Following on from last week’s confrontation with Goldberg, Lashley announced that he was suffering from multiple broken and bruised ribs. However, the Almighty went on to say that there’s something more devastating than a Spear from Goldberg and that’s a Spear from Bobby Lashley.
MVP then got on the mic and sent a message to Goldberg’s son, Gage telling him that his dad had better not show up at SummerSlam because he will be destroyed and annihilated worse than he’s ever seen. Lashley will end his career but then Gage will be able to spend all the time in the world with his dad after that.
Lashley took the microphone and finished the promo with “you’re not next, you’re done.”
5. A returning Randy Orton turns on Riddle
At the start of this week’s show Randy Orton returned much to the delight of Riddle. The reunion was cut short by A.J. Styles and the giant Omos and as a result a match was made between Styles and the Viper for later in the night.
During the match itself following interference from Omos and a distraction from Riddle, Styles went for the Phenomenal forearm but Orton countered into an RKO for the pin and win. After the match Riddle wanted a hug from Orton to celebrate. Orton refused and went to leave the ring but Riddle brought him back in and got the hug to a huge crowd reaction.
Riddle raised Orton’s hand and they posed until Orton hit him with an RKO. Byron Saxton shouted “I think they’re back together!” as Orton grinned over a downed Riddle.
