Manchester United Hit With Covid Outbreak After Norwich Win

Manchester United have recorded a number of positive Covid tests among players and staff following their 1-0 win at Norwich on Saturday, with their upcoming match against Brentford now in doubt.

The club has reported the cases to the Premier League, and it’s understood that all players tested negative before the Norwich game.

However, it has now emerged that a number of Manchester United players tested positive before training on Sunday morning. Those individuals were sent home and training was adjusted to individual and non-contact sessions.

Manchester United narrowly defeated a struggling Norwich City 1-0 at Carrow Road thanks to a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty in a weekend where Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool all won by one-goal margins thanks to penalty kicks, too.

David De Gea also starred as the Spanish goalkeeper kept Teemu Pukki et al at bay as Dean Smith looked to replicate his victory from earlier in the season against United, back when he was managing Aston Villa.

This weekend’s Tottenham vs. Brighton game was postponed after an outbreak in the Spurs squad which saw 13 individuals test positive, including eight players.

Manchester United are scheduled to face Brentford on Tuesday, but that match is now in jeopardy following the outbreak.
