With the WWE Royal Rumble taking place this weekend, even Premier League footballers are getting in on the action as Kevin De Bruyne has revealed who would win a Manchester City Royal Rumble – and who would struggle!
Speaking with BT Sport, Kevin De Bruyne was asked who would win a Royal Rumble at the Etihad, naming three of the club’s powerhouses before revealing who wouldn’t do so well.
De Bruyne’s first two choices, naturally, were two defenders.
“Well, Ruben (Dias) would love to be up there, I’m 100 percent sure. I’m going to put Walks (Kyle Walker) in there. I wouldn’t be surprised by Raheem, but obviously he can’t fight against the tall guys because weight class.
De Bruyne added another defensive player to the equation in Brazilian midfielder-turned-defender Fernandinho, but said he thinks “physical powerhouse” Kyle Walker would edge it, before joking that “no-one would want to see it” due to the small-stature of the Manchester City team.
“Dinho (Fernandinho) is strong. I would say in the end Walks because he’s just a physical powerhouse for me, but it would be a nice battle. There’s also a lot of people who would be just in the side. We have a very small team, so you don’t want to see that.”
