Chelsea & Premier League legend John Terry has sensationally returned to ‘The Blues’ following his departure from the club in 2017.

Chelsea FC have officially confirmed that John Terry has returned to the club within a coaching consultancy role for the highly touted Chelsea Academy aiming to assist the development of Chelsea’s youth development programme.

Speaking on social media, the former England captain would express his delight at returning to the club he spent 22 years with adding that his new role will see him take on on-field coaching sessions as well as monitoring academy prospects.

I’m delighted to announce that I’m coming home, and have taken up a consultancy role with the Chelsea academy. As well as delivering on-field coaching sessions I will be involved in coaching discussions and mentoring our academy players.”

In July earlier this year, ‘JT’ departed from his role as Aston Villa assistant manager citing a desire to pursue management and progress with his career – after spending some much needed time with his family.

Speaking via an official press release on the Aston Villa website, the Premier League’s top-scoring defender added:

“I want to be as respectful to the manager and everyone at Aston Villa as I can and, having given my future serious consideration over the summer, I genuinely don’t feel it is fair to move into a new season without being certain of seeing that through.
